Stayokay Amsterdam Oost is an international hostel located in a former technical school, right in the trendy Indische Buurt and just 15 minutes from the city centre of Amsterdam. It is the largest Stayokay location and features a spacious terrace on Timorplein, a living area, and Café The 5th.

Do you have supervisory experience in housekeeping/cleaning? For Stayokay Amsterdam Oost, we are looking for a Housekeeping Manager.

You will…

• be operationally responsible—together with 3 supervisors and the facility team—for the public areas and 120 rooms
• create an environment where everyone feels at home and enjoys working together; you inspire, motivate and energise the Housekeeping team to achieve the best results
• ensure guest satisfaction and top-notch hygiene standards; you have experience working with KPIs
• schedule and plan the team, manage holiday requests, recruit new colleagues, and help them settle in by providing proper onboarding and clear guidance
• conduct evaluations and progress meetings with staff
• contribute ideas about procedures within the hostel and come up with creative solutions, working closely with hostel management to continually exceed expectations

You have…

• a hands-on mentality and a proactive attitude
• experience in cleaning/housekeeping and know how to maintain high-quality standards
• strong attention to detail, ensuring everything is perfectly in order
• inspiring leadership skills; you are organised, flexible, and always maintain oversight
• a relevant qualification at mbo level or higher, plus several years of demonstrable (supervisory) experience in a hotel or hostel environment
• the willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends
• energetic ideas, the confidence to make decisions, and plenty of drive
• an open mind and value sustainability
